Now starting Right Field for the Birmingham Barons...

...with a career batting average of .202, from Wilmington, North Carolina, number 45, Michaaaaaaaaael Jorrrrrrrrrrrrrrdan!

For basketball fans globally, March 31, 1994, the day Jordan reported for spring training, marked the end of a legend. For sneakerheads world wide, however, this was the birth of one of the most sought after pair of kicks: The Space Jam XIs (pictured above). It was his (first) retirement from the sport that is forever indebted to him that spawned the idea for the 1996 film Space Jam. After watching the movie, who didn't want to sport the same shoes that Michael did when he stretched for the winning basket, over the Monstars? We all know what happened after Space Jam came out, wearing number 45, Mike was on his way to the 1995-1996 title (and the next two) and the best regular season record to date, 72-10. Ultimately, everything worked out for the best. The game got MJ back, the kids got Space Jam, and we got some of the freshest sneakers to date. Oh, and the soundtrack? It's so on point.
