T.R.O.Y.

They Reminisce Over You Lamont Coleman a/k/a The Big L (05.30.1974-02.15.1999)

Eleven years ago to the day, Big L, the "Flamboyant Records, C to the E.O.", was shot nine times (no Curtis Jackson) and died in Harlem, New York. For those not familiar Big L's music, it is the belief of many hip-hop enthusiasts, still.grimey contributors yung.geezy and JAM included, that had he not been gunned down that fateful day in Harlem, Lamont Coleman would have been one of the most prominent mcs in the game today. Big L was allegedly set to sign with Jay-Z's Roc-a-Fella records, but was murdered the week before negotiations were to be finalized with signatures. Below is a video of a freestyle between Lamont Coleman and one Shawn Carter, take a listen and figure out who you think is better.

Rest In Peace and Put It On, Big L
